About our eco store and eco points scheme

Our eco shop was set up for people who care about the environment and who are looking for ways to be more environmentally friendly. We realise it’s not always obvious how to be more eco friendly in our daily lives or when to find the time to research all the options. That's why we are constantly researching and looking for quality new products to add to the store all the time.

Since our launch, month on month we've added lots of new items to our range and we hope our eco shop provides a unique and useful range of eco products that make a positive contribution to reducing your environmental impact whilst helping you on your green living journey.

At ECOutlet, we want to make it easy to see why our eco friendly products are classified as environmentally friendly and how they can help you make a difference. Every item listed in the eco shop has a number of eco icons associated with it so you can see at a glance the benefits and exactly why they are environmentally friendly. Each icon is explained in a little more detail below:

In addition to shopping for great eco products at ECOutlet we are trying to do things a little differently. Visit the blog for regular tips and advice on green living as well as news about new arrivals in the eco shop. The calendar section is a useful resource for finding out about green events across the UK and in the links section you'll find lots of handy websites to visit for researching all the aspects of sustainable living.

About eco-points

We came up with the idea for eco-points as a fun way to rate products based on their ability to help you reduce your ecological footprint.  Items score 1 to 5 based on their potential to reduce long term environmental impact.  The ratings assigned to our eco products have nothing to do with their cost, for example, relatively cheap items such as the Tapmagic inserts (£4.79) or the Bodyflik (£4.95) have high scores of 4 and 3 due to their potential to make water and energy savings. In fact, all the energy saving products such as the Eco Kettle score highly (4 and 5) whereas every-day consumables such as natural soaps and natural shampoo score lower.

The rewards for collecting eco-points go to the environment.  It is not a discount scheme but rather a way for members to track their commitment to green living.  Whilst we don't offer discounts for building up your score, hopefully members will gain satisfaction in the knowledge that you are making a bigger difference to your ecological footprint and working towards a more sustainable lifestyle.

For us running an eco shop like ECOutlet, it's not just about the money and we aim to give something back too. That is why for every 100 eco points collected by all members at ECOutlet, we will make a donation of £2.50 to a UK based environmental charity.  As the business grows and develops we'd like to think in the future we will be able to review this figure and increase the donations we make.

Site feedback:

Unlike a physical store where you get to meet and chat with your customers every day, running an online eco store means we don't always have that privilege. That's why we value all feedback, good or bad, from our customers. If you have any feedback on the site or any of the products we can be contacted at info@ecoutlet.co.uk and if you've come across any eco-friendly products which you think we should be stocking let us know and we will do some investigating.
