By-passing the need for over-packaged shaving creams and foams, the traditional method of shaving using shaving brush and soap is a more environmentally friendly option.

For a good shave, the bristles have to be a balance between resistance to raise the beard and softness to generate a fine, rich lather. These bristles are soft like badger (but definitely NOT badger as they are synthetic) but with resistance to raise the beard, making a closer cut easier.
The synthetic bristles are non-absorbent so they need less soap to create a richer lather. Adding a little more water to the bristles after shaving will also likely allow enough lather for a second closer shave.
Always dry your brush by hanging on the stand provided. Bristles should always dry down and not up the handle.
Before using for the first time wash with soap and water and then rinse in clean water. When ready to shave, immerse bristles in clean, warm water and shake off excess. Apply wet brush to soap and distribute the soap about the moistened area to be shaved before working up to a creamy lather in a circular motion. Always rinse the brush in clean water after use and do not boil or soak.
