The basic material in these waste cans is papier-mache however the construction is sheer artistry and environmentally friendly at the same time.

The design idea came from a Thai artist's fascination with the beauty of Japanese characters as graphic art.

Taking this idea, the designer turned it into a business by organising the collection of Japanese magazines from some 35,000 Japanese living in Thailand. A trained staff then sorts, cuts and reassembles the magazine pages to create functional pieces of art.

Dimensions: 23.1cm (diameter) x 29.5cm
